Season 2 of Actually, I Can. drops next week. But you get to catch the trailer right now. This season, is dedicated to good conversations about bad advice:
Investors, colleagues, board members, friends, advisors, complete strangers, family, people on LinkedIn, “the world”, team members, industry “experts”, the voices in your own head… they’re all eager to tell you what you should do, how you should build, who you should be.
You get a lot of advice as you grow a business. Like, so much.
And there are so many decisions to make every day. Things are moving so fast and the stakes are high. So how do you quickly and confidently make decisions with all those voices shouting at you all the time?
Discernment. It quickly becomes one of the most important skills for a founder (or any leader, for that matter).
OK. Great, but how do you get that?!
Certainly not by listening to everyone else.
Discernment comes from lived experiences, instinct, and learning more about yourself. From learning to listen to and prioritize what you really want, who you’re building for, and why you’re on this journey in the first place.
After 20 years in B2B marketing, 5 years building a venture-backed company, and now 2 years working with founders, all I can tell you for certain is that your founder path is unique to you. There are no maps and no one knows where you’re going or how you’ll get there better than you do. Is some advice good? Of course. But the only one who can sift the good from the bad for you is… you.
That’s what this Substack is about. Every week I dig into what it actually means to make decisions, build a business, grow a brand and stay on your unique path as a founder.
You’ll hear from founders about the paths they’re blazing and lessons they’ve learned.
I’ll introduce you to a decision-making tool I call Thinking BRAVE (Brand, Relationships, Audacity, Values, and Energy). You’ll learn how to use it by seeing it in action.
And you’ll be the first to get updates about the launch of my first book(!!), coming in January.
And you get special sneak peeks like today’s trailer for Actually, I Can. and you’ll be the first to know details about my upcoming book as we get ready to launch in January. Watch for the first episode of Season 2 to drop next week.
In the meantime…
Someone will give you advice this week. It might even be really good advice. Just don’t let it pull you off your path as you pursue your unique vision.
Stay BRAVE, my friends!
Lindsay
P.S. If you know a founder who needs this perspective, forward it to them. The people who need it most are probably already in your contacts.

So excited for all the great conversations coming this season, Lindsay!
Can’t wait to tune in!!
